Where location QR codes guide people

Scan. Navigate.

A location QR code stores exact map coordinates and opens them in the scanner's default navigation app - whether that is Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze - with turn-by-turn directions one tap away. It beats a printed address wherever addresses break down: a wedding venue down an unmarked lane, a pop-up stall inside a market, a trailhead with no street number, or a building entrance the postcode does not match. The pin marks the precise spot, not the nearest road. Use it on invitations, listings, and delivery notes where a typed address would send people to the wrong place.

Event venues

Print a location QR on invitations and tickets for venues that are hard to find by address alone - scan and get turn-by-turn directions instantly.

Accommodation bookings

Include a location QR in booking confirmation emails or welcome packs so guests can navigate directly to your property without searching.

Pop-up markets and stalls

Market organisers can add location QR codes to promotional materials so visitors can navigate to the exact market ground or pitch.

Walking trails and tours

Place QR codes at trail start points or information boards. Scanning gives walkers the GPS pin for the next point of interest.

Delivery and collection

Share a precise collection point GPS pin for depots, warehouses, or unmanned collection lockers - more accurate than a street address.

Large campuses

Universities, hospitals, and business parks can use location QR codes on signage to help visitors navigate to specific buildings or entrances.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

In Google Maps, right-click (desktop) or long-press (mobile) on any point to see its coordinates. You can also find them in the URL when you pin a location. Coordinates are in decimal degrees format (e.g. 51.5074, -0.1278).
The QR code uses a geo: URI which opens the device's default maps application. On iPhone this is typically Apple Maps; on Android it is Google Maps. Most devices allow the user to choose from installed apps.
Latitude is entered first, then longitude. Latitude ranges from -90 (South Pole) to +90 (North Pole). Longitude ranges from -180 to +180. For example, London is latitude 51.5074, longitude -0.1278.
This generator uses GPS coordinates (most precise). If you prefer, use a URL QR code pointing to a Google Maps link (maps.google.com/?q=your+address) for an address-based pin.
GPS coordinates are accurate to within a few metres, far more precise than a street address for large buildings or rural locations. Use at least 4 decimal places for good accuracy (e.g. 51.5074 not 51.51).
Scanning the QR code requires no data, but the maps app needs data or a cached offline map to display directions. Most modern maps apps cache frequently used areas.
