What WiFi security types are supported?

The generator supports WPA/WPA2/WPA3 (the most common type for home and business networks), WEP (older and insecure, but still in use), and open networks with no password. Select the correct type to match your router settings.

Is my WiFi password safe?

Yes. The generator runs entirely in your browser - your WiFi password is never sent to any server. It is encoded locally into the QR image and stays on your device. No one else ever sees it.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes. iOS 11 and later can scan WiFi QR codes directly from the native Camera app. A banner appears asking if you want to join the network - tap it and you're connected. No third-party app needed. Does it work on Android?

What if my SSID or password has special characters?

The generator handles special characters in SSIDs and passwords correctly. Just type or paste them as normal - no need to escape characters manually.

Can I hide the password in the QR code?

The password is encoded inside the QR code itself (that is how scanning works), but it is not visible as plain text in the QR image. Anyone who scans it can join the network, which is the intended behaviour. If you want to restrict access, use a separate guest network with its own password.
